Anjan Shrestha has been elected unopposed as the senior vice president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Anjan was elected as the senior vice president of FNCCI unopposed after another candidate, Umesh Lal Shrestha, withdrew his candidacy.
There was an agreement between Umesh Lal and Anjan after the election was set to go for the second phase when three candidates did not get 50 percent of the votes in the first phase.
Umesh Lal supported Anjan after reaching an agreement.
Who is Anjan?
Anjan Shrestha, who was elected unopposed as the senior vice president, was previously the vice president (commodity). He is the executive director at Lakshmi Group.
He started his business career 30 years ago from a dairy industry in Pokhara and is now considered one of the established businessmen of Nepal.
He has investments in the manufacturing industry and business sector. Shrestha is running companies including Sujal Foods, Sujal Plastics, Siddhi Lakshmi Steels, Sujal Dairy, and Jai Lakshmi Trading.
The companies are trading in sugar, milk powder, liquid glucose, printing inks, various types of plastic granules, palm kernel oil, palm oil among others.
