The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has set a goal of creating 1.25 million new jobs in the next five years.
Unveiling the election manifesto on Saturday, the NC has stated that the target of economic growth is put at least 7 percent.
The NC, in the manifesto, has resolved to create 250,000 new jobs annually in the fields of information technology, industry, tourism, construction, transport, financial sector, minerals, art and entertainment, and other service sectors.
NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the Prime Minister, announced the manifesto in a program held at the central party office, Sanepa.
The manifesto prepared by the committee led by General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma was released today.
The commitment document was published with the slogan "Protection of the Constitution, the Basis of Stability and Unity, the upcoming Government under the Leadership of the Nepali Congress".
