NC pledges free treatment for citizens below 3 and above 73

Health insurance amount to be raised to Rs 1 millon

The ruling Nepali Congress (NC), has released a manifesto for the House of Representatives (HoR) and Provincial Assembly (PA) elections to be held on November 20.

NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who is also the Prime Minister of Nepal, unveiled the manifesto during a program organized at the central party office, Sanepa on Saturday.

In the manifesto named 'Commitment document', it is said that within five years, all citizens will be guaranteed health insurance and treatment of serious diseases through insurance.

Similarly, it is said that free treatment will be arranged for children below three years and senior citizens above 73 years of age.

Under the subtitle "Easy access to quality health care: Health insurance for all, good health system", the NC said, 'Free treatment will be provided to children under three years and senior citizens above 73 years of age.'

Meanwhile, the NC has also said that the insurance amount will be increased to Rs 1 million.
The manifesto has also stated basic health centers will be established in 2,600 wards that do not have health institutions.

Similarly, primary health centers with specialist doctors in all villages and municipalities, and hospitals with specialist services in all sub-metropolitan and metropolitan municipalities will be established within five years.
