Over 73,000 votes cast in Chitwan-2

Over 73,000 votes have been cast in the by-elections in Chitwan-2 on Sunday.

According to SP Rameshwar Karki, the chief of Chitwan District Police Office, Chitwan, 73,359 votes were cast during the period.

There are 124,695 voters for the by-election in the constituency.

Voting is still going on in one polling station even after the 5 pm deadline in Chitwan 2.

On Sunday, voting was stopped in Rastriya Secondary School at Krishnapur in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-7 and Nayakiran Secondary School at Bharatpur Metropolitan City-11.

Polling resumed at Krishnapur immediately, but voting at Nayakiran was stopped for about four hours. Polling, which was suspended from 11:30 PM, resumed only after 3:00 PM.

It is said that voting will be held in that polling station even beyond the scheduled time.

SP Karki told Nepalkhabar that except for sporadic incidents in some centers of Chitwan, the voting took place peacefully.
