A complaint has been lodged with the Election Commission (EC) against Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
The complaint has been lodged against Rabi at the Election Officer's Office in Chitwan 2, alleging five allegations such as asking for votes through social media, by disrupting the atmosphere of polling centers against the code of conduct after the silent period began.
Secretary of Nepali Congress Chitwan Dhruba Raj Pokharel filed a complaint at 4 pm at the Commission demanding that Lamichhane be prosecuted in accordance with the Election Commission Act, Guidelines, and Procedures on Sunday.
He has also demanded action against the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Chitwan.
Lamichhane, who is a candidate from the RSP, shouted slogans at the polling centers disrupting the voting. However, the polling resumed after Lamichhane apologized.
The election code of conduct states that no candidate can use social media to influence the voters during the voting period.
But after the election started, Rabi came live on Facebook on Sunday afternoon asking for votes.
