Rabi Lamichhane re-elected MP with over 54,000 votes from Chitwan-2

Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been reelected as a member of the House Representatives (HoR) from Chitwan-2 with a wide margin of votes.

According to the final vote count results announced on Tuesday, Lamichhane won with 54 thousand 175 votes.

His rival Jeet Narayan Shrestha of the Nepali Congress from the ruling coalition stood in the second place with 11 thousand 114 votes. The difference between Rabi and Jeet is 43 thousand 61.

Ram Prasad Neupane of CPN (UML), who came third, got 10 thousand 934 votes.

Rabi broke his own record by securing 5,000 more votes than he got in November 20 elections.

Earlier, he had won the House of Representatives election on November 20 with 49,264 votes.

Ravi lost his MP over his citizenship dispute on January 27. That is why the by-election was held in Chitwan 2 on April 23.

He won with a wide margin of 43 thousand 61 votes, setting a record in the vote count.

In the November 20 election, he had defeated his rival Congress-UML candidate with a wide margin of 19,634 votes.
