Lumbini Province Chief Amik Sherchan has called on the parties to stake a claim for the formation of a government in line with Article 168 (2) of the Constitution by 4 pm April 27.
According to this provision, a provincial lawmaker who can muster support from two or more two parties can be appointed as the chief minister.
Chief Minister Lila Giri was relieved of his post after he did not secure the vote of confidence.
In the vote of confidence, 33 votes were cast in favor of Giri, who is also the UML Provincial Parliamentary Party leader, while 53 votes were cast against him.
The government led by Chief Minister was dissolved after he failed to win minimum the support of 44 lawmakers.
