Upendra Yadav leading vote count in Bara-2

Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Upendra Yadav, is leading the vote count in Bara-2

Out of  57,240 votes counted, Yadav has secured 23,275 votes so far while Janamat Party's Shiva Chandra Prasad Kushwaha got 20,422 votes.

They are followed by CPN (UML) candidate Purushottam Paudel with 6,941 votes, according to the Office of Chief Returning Officer.

Likewise, Ramesh Kharel of Rastriya Swatantra Party has secured 2,689 votes.

The vote count is underway at Education Training Centre, Kalaiya, amidst tight security and a total of 13,594 votes are left to count.

The post of House of Representatives member was lying vacant in Bara-2 after the earlier HoR member Ramshahay Prasad Yadav became Vice President.

The by-election was held on April 23. The constituency recorded 65 percent voter turnout in the by-election.
