Cabbage worth Rs 170 million exported via Kakadbhitta border

Cabbage worth over Rs 170 million has been exported to India via Kakadbhitta border in nine months of current fiscal year.

The cabbage was produced in Dhankuta, Ilam and Jhapa districts. Information officer at Plant Quarantine Office of Kakadbhitta, Chandeshwor Thakur, informed that 10,103 metric tonnes of cabbage was exported in nine months.

Various other agricultural products are exported to India via Kakadbhitta border.

However, in the same period, Nepal imported 361 thousand metric tonnes of food grains and other agro products which is worth Rs 9.30 billion. Cardamom, tea, plywood, ginger are top exports from Nepal.

Similarly, vegetables, fruits, soybean and potato are imported maximum from India.
