CPN (UML) Secretary and member of parliament (MP) Top Bahadur Rayamajhi's son Sandeep has been brought to Kathmandu.
Sandeep, who was arrested on Wednesday on the charge of conniving with a gang of racketeers in making fake Bhutanese refugees and sending them to America, was brought to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa Airport by a Buddha Air flight.
He was taken to the airport at 7 am, but the flight was delayed due to bad weather.
Top Bahadur, who was involved in the same case, is at large.
So far, he has not been arrested and the search is on, SP Bharat BK, the head of District Police Office, Rupandehi, said.
On Wednesday, Top Bahadur booked a ticket to come to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa.
He was preparing to come to Kathmandu on Wednesday with Speaker Devraj Ghimire.
However, soon after he came back from Kathmandu, he was unreachable after receiving information about the preparation of the police to arrest him.
He has also canceled the ticket that he had already booked.
His phone is switched off and police said that search is on.
So far, eight people who were involved in faking Bhutanese refugees and sending them to America have been arrested. A month after Keshav Dulal and Sanu Bhandari were arrested in the fraud case, former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’'s security advisor Indrajit Rai was arrested.
Three days have been extended for investigation on him.
On Wednesday, the police arrested the then Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey.
In this case, the names of former Home Minister Thapa's son Pratik and Security Adviser Rai's son Niraj have also been linked with the case.
An arrest warrant has been issued against them and they are currently absconding.
