Member of Parliament (MP) Surendra Raj Acharya has taken the oath of office and secrecy as the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens.
President Ram Chandra Paudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Acharya amidst a special ceremony at Sheetal Niwas on Sunday.
Acharya was appointed to the ministerial post on the recommendation of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda'.
Present in the oath-taking ceremony at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas, were the Prime Minister, National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina, among other dignitaries.
Likewise, the President has changed the portfolio of Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizen Mahendra Raya Yadav and assigned him the portfolio of the Ministry of Water Supply.
