Former Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) Bigyan Raj Sharma has claimed that the two accused caught in the fake Bhutanese refugee case were released under political pressure when Nepali Congress leader Balkrishna Khand was the Home Minister.
Former AIG Sharma posted a video on TikTok and talked about the case.
In which Sharma has claimed that the gang that planned to take Nepali people as fake Bhutanese refugees during the government led by KP Sharma Oli filed a complaint with the police after the fall of his government.
Sharma has claimed that two people were arrested by the Crime Investigation Division of the police, but were released under the pressure of the then Home Minister Khand.
Sharma said, "At that time, due to political pressure, those two were released."
Sharma retired from AIG in February 2016.

Sanu Bhandari used to call the Deputy Prime Minister (Top Bahadur Rayamajhi) who is currently absconding as ‘uncle’. Bhandari used to say that (Top Bahadur) facilitated it.
If only the facilitation had been done, why should he have absconded now? He would have come forward and said his things. When his son was with him, his self-strength increased and he began to work forward.
After starting to work, they started looking for fake refugees who could give them money.
They started looking for people in Jhapa, Morang in the east, Dang, Pyuthan, Salyan, Morang, Rukum, Rolpa, Gorkha in the west. Meanwhile, Ram Bahadur Thapa also became the Home Minister and Indrajit Rai became his security adviser.
Along with Rai, Ram Bahadur Thapa's son also has been dragged into it. They also started to reassure the victims by showing them photos.
