After the fake refugee case, the government has stopped Inspector General of Police Basanta Kunwar's visit to America.

IGP Kunwar was scheduled to leave for America on Monday to participate in the Leadership Exchange program to be held in America.

However, the government rejected his visit after the case of Nepalese fraud in the name of fake Bhutanese refugees.

AIG Kiran Bajcharya, Chief of CIB, Central Investigation Bureau of Police has instead been sent to the program.

AIG Sudip Giri, DIG Ramdutta Joshi, SSP Chandra Bahadur Dhami and SP Santosh Khadka left for America in a 5-member team led by Bajracharya.

The event, which will be held from May 9 to 11 in Washington DC and New York in the USA, will discuss future security challenges and financial crime investigation and control including terrorism, digital crime, and cryptocurrency transactions.

As the investigation into the fake refugee case is reaching its final stage, names of former Home Minister to former Home Secretary have been dragged.

The IGP was not allowed to leave the country as the investigation had to be completed within 10 days.
