Lumbini hosting 'Buddhist Int'l Travel Mart' from May 11

Lumbini will be hosting the 'Buddhist International Travel Mart' aiming to promote tourism in the birthplace of Gautam Budhha.

The event to be supported by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Tourism Board and the Nepal Association of the Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has been scheduled to be held on May 11-13.

The event being held under the theme, 'Explore the Buddha Land', is expected to be attended by over 200 people who include tourism entrepreneurs, Buddhist Bhikkhus, representatives from the Buddhist associations, tour operators and national tourism council representatives from over a dozen of countries including Nepal, China, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, and Korea, according to NATTA President Ramesh Thapa.

There shall be presentations on the tourism promotion and potentialities in Nepal and in Lumbini, and 'B2B' will be held during the event to be held at the Lumbini-based Hotel Pawan Palace. The event is expected to cost around Rs 16 million. 

Lumbini Province Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary will inaugurate the three-day event. (RSS)
