Two more racketeers involved in fake Bhutanese refugee case arrested

Two more racketeers who cheated Nepalis by making them refugees and sending them to America have been arrested.

Ram Sharan KC from Tokha, Kathmandu and Gobinda Chaudhary from Belbari, Morang have landed in the police net.

Acting on a tip-off, a special squad of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office from Shankhamul on Tuesday arrested two individuals and handed them over to the District Police Range Kathmandu for further investigation.  

With this, the number of racketeers arrested on the charge of sending Nepali citizens to America in the name of Bhutanese refugees has reached 10.

Arrest warrants have been issued against more than 10 people. But they are absconding. Former Minister Top Bahadur Rayamajhi is also among the fugitives.

Earlier, former Home Secretary Tek Narayan Pandey, former Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa's security adviser Indrajit Rai, Top Bahadur's son Sandeep have been arrested.

Prior to that, 50-year-old Sanu Bhandari of Lalitpur Metropolitan Municipality-23, 49-year-old Keshav Prasad Dulal of Pathari Shanishchare Municipality-10 of Morang and 45-year-old Tanka Kumar Gurung of Phidim Municipality-7 of Panchthar, Sandesh Sharma of Dang and former ward chairman Sagar Rai of Pathari Shanishchare Municipality-10 of Morang were arrested.
