Former Nepali Congress leader and Constituent Assembly member Purushottam Basnet has passed away.
According to Rajendra Parajuli, President of Jananayak BP Koirala Memorial Trust, Basnet passed away at 4 am at his residence in Sifal Height today. He was the treasurer of the trust.
Basnet, the author of the book 'Nepali Congress Ko Itihasko Prarup’
The historina of Nepali Congress also worked as Chief Press Advisor to late Girija Prasad Koirala.
Basnet was an invited CC of the Congress from 2062–66 BS. He is also the former NC President of Solukhumbu district. He also served a nine-year jail term for democracy.
