Posting a Facebook message on Monday, Dr Bhattarai said he will not take part in the upcoming federal elections to be held on November 20.

"I am grateful to all the brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers of Gorkha district for giving me opportunities to serve you by electing me in the elections held in 2064, 2070, and 2074 BS," reads the message, adding, "For your kind information, I, this time, will not contest the federal elections scheduled to be held on November 20, 2079 BS."
