Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has said that the ruling alliance is a new form of the then 12-Point Agreement signed between the seven political parties and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist).
Addressing an election assembly in Gorkha on Friday, Prachanda shed light on the importance of the current ruling alliance.
"This is the alliance of the same agreement when late Girija Prasad Koirala and I signed the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in line with the 12-Point Agreement," said Prachanda.
The ruling coalition is for the protection of the constitution and democracy while the other alliance is against it, he said referring to the one led by CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli.
Speaking in an election rally organized in Gorkha-2, Prachanda further said that he came to Gorkha with a dream of development and prosperity and vowed that Gorakhkali rubber industry will be promoted in a new way for employment and prosperity in order to woo the voters.
Prachanda is contesting the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) from Gorkha-2
"The world should also see the victory of Gorkha. If we vote well in this election, it will give us strength and keep our head high," he further said.
Prachanda says that Surendra Raj Pandey, who has become a candidate for the member of the Province Assembly on behalf of Nepali Congress (NC), is the Chief Minister of the Gandaki Province and that he is likely to become the next Prime Minister of the country.
"Surendra Raj Pandey is not only a member of the Province Assembly, there is a full possibility that he will become the Chief Minister of Gandaki Province after winning the elections from here," he said.
