Congress Transformation Campaign assembly at Battisputali

NC leaders and cadres attending a meeting of Congress Transformation Campaign at Battisputali on Tuesday.

The Bagmati Province assembly under the Nepali Congress Transformation Campaign launched by youth leaders of the Nepali Congress has started at Anupam Foodland in Battisputli, Kathmandu on Tuesday.

In the conclave chaired by Bagmati Province Coordinator and Congress Central Member Madhu Acharya, former President of Nuwakot District Jagdish Narsingh KC, Gandaki Province Coordinator of Transformation Campaign Debraj Chalise, Congress Central Member Prakash Rasaili, Madhesh Province Coordinator of Campaign Ranjit Karna, Karnali Province Coordinator Bhupendra Jung Shahi, Koshi Province Coordinator Gururaj Ghimire among other leaders are participating.

Expressing his views in the meeting, Leader KC said that the 15th General Convention of Nepali Congress should be held as soon as possible.

"The convention of the sister organizations of Nepali Congress has been stalled for a long time, the party leadership should announce the date as soon as possible," he said.

KC said that the practice of distributing tickets for free students union (FSU) by the president, and picking leaders by the president of the women's union without holding a convention should be stopped for good.

He also expressed displeasure over the government granting amnesty to Resham Chaudhary.

He said, "The Supreme Court takes a decision, and the government flouts it. Our party remains silent. This is not the trait of our party.

Similarly, he is of the opinion that Congress should not form an alliance with other parties.

"The Nepali Congress should not go for pre-election alliance," he said, "We have to fight alone in the upcoming 2084 elections."

According to the Congress Transformation Campaign, 150 people were present in the meeting.
