Govt to seek work permits in 71 countries including Germany

The government taken the initiative in seeking work permits in 71 countries including Germany, Romania and Iraq. Organizing a press meet on Sunday, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security informed about it.

A study shows that it is appropriate to grant the work-permit to migrant workers based on the visa period, the ministry said during the press meet.

Labor Minister Sharad Singh Bhandari said the ministry will leave no stone unturned to deal with issues related to labor and employment.

He also informed that embassies and corporations in the respective countries have been suggested to study and do necessary homework on the issue of sending workers for foreign employment to countries that have established diplomatic relations with Nepal.

Secretary at the Ministry Ek Narayan Aryal informed that the latest technology will be used to make the foreign employment and labor sector organized, systematic and transparent.

Rajiv Pokharel, joint secretary at the ministry, assured that a team will be formed in the near future to prevent the disparities and discrepancies seen in the foreign employment sector.
