Min Bahadur Gurung, the owner of Bhatbhateni Super Market, has been arrested.
A team of Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Gurung from his residence in Naxal on Tuesday.
His name was mentioned in the case of registering the government land of Lalita Niwas in Baluwatar in the name of an individual.
Gurung had invested in the land. He is still using that land as a store.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a case against 175 people including the former Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, former minister duo Chandra Dev Joshi and Dambar Shrestha, the former Chief Commissioner of the CIAA Deep Basnyat in the land embezzlement case of Lalita Niwas on January 26, 2020.
In this case, the anti-graft body has claimed Rs 392 million 700,000 thousand in fine against Gurung, the owner of Bhatbhateni.
