Nepal has defeated UAE by three wickets in the playoff of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
Chasing the 181-run target set by UAE, Nepal reached it in 43.2 overs losing three wickets. Dipendra Singh Airee topped the score with 79 runs including seven fours and two sixes off 85 balls.
Similarly, Kushal Bhurtel made 35 runs while Sandeep Lamichhane and Gyanendra Malla contributed 23 and 13 runs, respectively.
In reply, Muhammad Jawadullah took thre wickets while Junaid Siddique, Ali Naseer, Sanchit Sharma, Rohan Mustafa grabbed one wicket each for UAE.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, UAE notched up 181 runs losing all the wickets in 46.5 overs underway at the Takashinga Sports Club, Highfield, Harare, Zimbabwe on Sunday.
Vriitya Aravind made the highest 44 runs followed by Rohan Mustafa with 35 runs while Basil Hameed and Aryansh Sharma contributed 29 and 28 runs, respectively.
In reply, Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took three wickets each while Pratis GC, Dipendra Singh Airee and Gulsan Jha grabbed one wicket each for Nepal.
With this win aginst UAE in the playoff, Nepal will now take on Ireland for the seventh place.
