The UML, which was demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister, backed down from it and expressed readiness to resume the parliament meeting on Sunday.

Accordingly, the meeting called for 1 o'clock had been delayed by two hours.

However, after a while, UML made a new proposal to withdraw the statement of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha and the press release issued by Govinda Acharya, the press adviser to the DPM.

In a meeting held at the Office of the Council of Ministers this morning, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli agreed not to block the House meeting  after Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal agreed to rectify his speech delivered on July 3.

The meeting participated by Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal and UML Chairman Oli lasted for around one and a half hours.

In the meeting, Oli had agreed to allow the parliament run after Prachanda said he would give a clarification about his speech in which he hinted to have become the prime minister with the support of India.

The heavyweights held a meeting this morning at a time when the parliament meetings are being disrupted by the opposition.
