With the implementation of the automatic pricing system for petroleum products, the fare of public transport has also gone down.
Along with the reduction in the price of diesel and petrol through the automatic system, the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) has also adjusted the fare.
With the new adjustment, diesel has been reduced by Rs 4 per liter and petrol by Rs 6 per liter.
Based on this, the DoTM has reduced fares by 2.13 percent for passenger vehicles, 2.78 percent for freight vehicles and 3.09 percent in the Terai region.
"Reduced fares will be implemented from today, the monitoring of which has been entrusted to the Administration Office and Traffic Police", Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala said.
Minister Jwala on Sunday instructed the subordinate agencies to adjust the fares of public and freight vehicles as soon as the automatic pricing system is implemented in petroleum products.
