Nepal lost to India A by nine wickets in the cricket match of the ACC Men's Emerging Cup held at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Monday.
Chasing the 168-run target set by Nepal, India A reached it in 22.1 overs losing one wicket.
Abhishek Sharma topped the score with 87 runs including 12 fours and two sixes off 69 deliveries. Similarly, Sai Sudharsan hit 58 runs including eight fours and one six while Dhruv Jurel contributed 21 runs.
In reply, Rohit Paudel took one wicket for Nepal.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss, Nepal notched up 167 runs losing all the wickets in the 39.2 overs.
Nepal’s Rohit Paudel made the highest 65 runs including seven fours off 85 balls. Similarly, Gulsan Jha collected 38 runs off 30 deliveries while Dev Khanal and Sompal Kami contributed 15 and 14 runs, respectively.
In reply, Nishant Sindhu took the highest four wickets followed by Rajvardhan Hangargekar with three wickets while Harshit Rana claimed two wickets for India A.
Nepal is in Group B alongside India, Pakistan and UAE. Nepal will take on UAE on Wednesday (July 19).
Group A includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Oman. Top two teams from each group will enter the semi-finals.
