Sabitra Bhandari (Samba), the star striker of Nepali National Women's Football Team and APF Football Club, has left for Israel to play in the European League on Tuesday morning.
Samba has signed a one-season contract with Israeli top division club Hapoel Ra'anana. Although Israel is in the Asian continent, football is played in Europe.
Samba, who started her football career from the Maldives, has spent three seasons in the Indian league.
Samba was the top scorer in the Indian Women’s League (IWL), playing a vital role in helping Gokulam Kerala FC to lift the trophy. Samba scored 29 goals in 10 league matches.
With the rise in the Indian top league, Samba gradually stole the limelight. Samba is Nepal's top scorer with 44 goals in 45 matches for the national team.
Samba, who reigned supreme in domestic football tournament, is going to play outside Asia for the first time.
