The rumor mill has started churning out details regarding the iPhone 16 well before the lunch of iPhone 15.
According to a report by MacRumors, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models that are expected to release in 2024 will support Wi-Fi 7 and 48MP ultra-wide angle cameras.
iPhone 16 Pro: Wi-Fi 7 support
Wi-Fi 7-enabled devices will be able to send and receive data over the 2.4GHz, 5GHz, and 6GHz bands, simultaneously. This will result in faster Wi-Fi speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connectivity.
With the help of technologies such as 4K QAM, Wi-Fi 7 may offer peak data transfer speeds of over 40Gbps. This will be a 4 times increase over data speeds offered by Wi-Fi 6E.
Currently, Apple is offering Wi-Fi 6E support for its devices.
iPhone 16 Pro: 48MP ultra-wide camera
The iPhone 16 Pro models are expected ta house a 48MP Ultra Wide lens which will capture more light. The lens will also improve photos shot in 0.5x mode, especially in low-light environments.
iPhone 14 Pro models already come with a 48MP primary sensor. This unit uses "pixel binning" to merge data from four pixels on the camera's image sensor into one "super pixel" for improved low-light performance.
This technology is expected to expand to the Ultra Wide lens with iPhone 16 Pro models. Ultra-wide cameras are currently limited to 12MP lenses. (with inputs from Agencies)
