Indian Army Chief Manoj Pande on Sunday said that ongoing India-China border standoff is stable but unpredictable.
Speaking at a conference in New Delhi, the Indian Army chief said that China has continued to build infrastructures along the India-China Line of Actual Control (LAC), according to Indian media reports.
Pandesaid that India is looking towards the next round of Corps Commander-level talks with China to resolve the remaining issues.
Since 2020 Galwan incident, India and China held 16 rounds of consultations which have resulted in considerable progress, but several issues are still unaddressed.
On the preparedness of the Indian Army, he affirmed that the winter posture of the Indian Army is in progress, according to India's Live Mint online. He stressed on carefully calibrating India's "actions on LAC to be able to safeguard our interests and sensitivities." He was referring to the overall situation along Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh.
