Pakistan has set a mammoth target of 343 runs for Nepal in the first match of Asia Cup on Wednesday.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss at the Multan International Cricket Stadium, home team Pakistan notched up 342 runs losing six wickets in the allotted 50 overs.

Captain Babar Azam hit the record 151 runs studded with 14 fours and four sixes off 149 balls. Iftikhar Ahmed made 109 runs including 11 fours and four sixes while Mohammad Rizwan contributed 44 runs.

In reply, Sompal Kami grabbed two wickets while Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took one wicket each for Nepal.

Following a mediocre start, Nepal could not break the partnership of Babar and Ahmed and received a mammoth target.

Nepal, that fielded feebly against Pakistan, the top team in the ODI ranking, came under pressure as they could not break the partnership despite a mediocre start.
