PM, former President, leaders pay tribute to mortal remains of Nembang (photos)

The prime minister, ministers, leaders and people from various walks of life have thronged the CPN (UML) central party office in Chyasal, Lalitpur to pay tributes to late UML Vice Chairman and former Speaker Subas Chandra Nembang.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, former President Bidya Devi Bhandari, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Law Minister Dhanraj Gurung, former ministers Sher Bahadur Deuba, Dr Baburam Bhattarai, Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal among others have paid tributes to Nembang.

The mortal remains of Nembang was taken to UML party office at Chyasal in Lalitpur in a vehicle of the Nepali Army from TU Teaching Hospital. The body will be kept at Chyasal throughout the day today.

UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli paid tributes by draping a party-flag on the mortal remains of Nembang. Ministers, UML leaders, well-wishers and general public have paid last respects to late Nembang.

His funeral rites will be performed after his sons arrive from Australia and the UK as per the Mundhum tradition, family sources have said.

Nembang, who was elected to the House of Representatives from Ilam-2, died of cardiac arrest at around 2 am today.
