Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has called a meeting with the leaders loyal to the non-establishment group.
The meeting of non-establishment faction will take place at his liaison office in Baluwatar at 2 pm on Tuesday, sources have said.
According to a leader close to Koirala, General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma and central working committee member (CWC) Pradeep Paudel have been invited to the meeting.
General Secretary Sharma contested the elections from the panel of leader Prakash Man Singh in the 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress. Singh is now in the camp of President Sher Bahadur Deuba while Sharma is close to the other group led by Koirala.
Earlier, Sharma had helped another General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa, who was from the non-establishment faction, in the Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party elections.
On the other hand, Paudel, who contested elections on behalf of Krishna Prasad Sitaula, lost the elections in the 14th General Convention. The Sitaula group participated in the convention in alliance with the Deuba group.
Koirala called the meeting with the strategy of presenting a solidarity from the non-establishment faction in the CWC meeting of the party. If Koirala's invitation is accepted, General Secretary Sharma and leader Paudel will attend the formal meeting of the non-establishment group for the first time.
All leaders of the non-establishment faction have been invited to this meeting. The group will chalk out future strategy incorporating views of Sharma and Paudel, sources said.
