The Nepali national cricket team has won the ACC U-19 Premier Cup for the second time in a row.
Nepal won its second win by defeating Bahrain by 7 wickets in the match held on Sunday. Nepal reached the target of paltry 78 runs set by Bahrain by losing two wickets in 11.4 overs.
Captain Dev Khanal and opner Arjun Kumal made an unbeaten partnership of 68 runs and gave Nepal a comfortable victory.
Both Arjun and Dev played equal unbeaten innings of 32 runs. Arjun hit 5 fours off 31 balls and remained not out while Dev Khanal hit 4 fours and 1 six off 27 balls.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss Bahrain was bowled out for 77 runs in 37.5 overs at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur Cricket Ground, Malaysia.
Deepesh Kadel alone took six wickets including 8 maidens for four runs to restrict Bahrain to a low score.
Similarly, Durgesh took 4 wickets for 22 runs including 1 maiden in 8 overs. Bahrain's batsmen could not stay at the crease for long against Nepal's bowlers.
Muhammad Basil Abdul Hakeem and Abhinav Girish added 44 runs for the fifth wicket for Bahrain. Muhammad was bowled out by Durgesh for 34 runs.
In the final match of the group stage, Nepal is scheduled to play against Saudi Arabia on October 19.
