Remittance up 22%, Rs 228.37 bln received in first two months of current FY

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has informed that remittance inflow has increased by 22.1 percent in the first two months of the current fiscal year compared to last year.

Nepal has received Rs 228.37 billion rupees between mid-July to mid-September of the current fiscal year.

Remittance inflows in US dollars increased by 17.7 percent to 1.73 billion. Such inflow had increased by 11.3 percent around the same period last year.

In two months, the number of Nepalis who took the final work permit (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment decreased by 28.3 percent to remain at 74,455.

Similarly, the number of Nepalis who renewed labor permits for foreign employment has gone down by 18.3 percent in two months and remained at 3,2004.
