Employees of the CG Brewery Pvt Ltd have assaulted the management officials after being deprived of bonuses of the Dashain festival.

The workers working at the brewery company, who had been demanding bonuses, behaved indecently and manhandled the management officials on the office premises on Wednesday.

According to the company, the workers have demanded unauthorized bonuses when the country's economy is going through a recession, the market is sluggish and the companies are operating at low capacity and struggling to survive.

Issuing a statement, the company said that such illegal activities will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

"CG Brewery had distributed bonuses of up to six months to its workers/employees during the economic situation of the country in the past years. However, due to the fact that the economy is going through a recession, it has a serious negative impact on the CG industry. Compared to the previous year, the sale of CG Brewery's products has decreased by 25 percent. In such a situation, the company has been managing even in difficult situations so that the employment of its workers/employees is not affected. However, even when the company is in loss, it is very indecent to brutally assault the management officer by demanding bonus,” reads the press note.

The company said that such activities have received serious attention from the management side.
