The Election Commission (EC) has scheduled the date for filing nominations of candidates for the elections to the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Province Assembly (PA) under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system.
According to the EC, the candidates willing to register their candidatures can do so at the office of the concerned election officer from 10 am to 5 pm on October 9. There are only five days left before filing nominations of the candidates.
The list of candidates who file nominations will be published from 5 to 7 pm on October 9, said the EC.
According to Shaligram Paudel, the spokesperson of the EC, the complaints against the candidacies, if any, can be filed from 10 to 3 pm on October 10.
The EC has set October 10 and 11 to investigate the nominations and complaints lodged. The list of the candidates will be published from 5 to 7 pm on October 11.
On October 12, those willing to withdraw their candidacies can do so from 10 am to 1 pm and the final list will be published from 1 to 3 pm on the same day, said the EC.
The elections are being held to simultaneously elect the members of the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly on November 20.
