Nepal has won the ACC U-19 Premier Cup title by defeating UAE with Dev Khanal's record-breaking batting and Akash Tripathi's lethal bowling.
Nepal won the title by defeating UAE by 19 runs in the D/L method in the final match held in Malaysia on Tuesday.
Despite the target of 281 runs given by Nepal, after rain affected the game, UAE got a new target of 198 runs in 27 overs. UAE were bundled out for 178 runs with 1 ball to spare.
The match was reduced to 27 overs while UAE was 50-2 in 11 overs after the rain played a spoilsport.
Akash Tripathi of Nepal single-handedly took four wickets to restrict UAE from reaching the target. Akash spent 37 runs in 5 overs.
Subas Bhandari grabbed 3 wickets, Akash Chand took 2 wickets while Hemant Dhami claimed one wicket.
Dhruv Parashar of UAE made the highest 59 runs followed Aryans Sharma with 32 runs while Aayan Afzal Khan contributed 30 runs. Similarly, Yayin Kiran Rai scored 17 runs. The other batsmen could score double-digit runs.
Earlier, electing to bat first after winning the toss at Malaysia's Biomass Oval, Nepal who won the toss and batted made a total of 280 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Captain Dev Khanal scored a historic century for Nepal. Captain Dev hit 9 fours and 3 sixes off 92 balls. Dev is the first player to score three centuries in U-19 cricket tournament.
Wicket keeper Uttam Rangu Thapa Magar was caught out for 57 runs. He hit 4 fours and 1 six off 67 balls.
Opener Arjun Kumal was dismissed for 55 runs. Arjun, who faced 78 balls, scored 55 runs including 4 fours.
Deepak Prasad Dumre added 28 runs. Opener Deepak Bohora was dismissed for 5 runs and Bishal Bikram KC for 3 runs. Hemant Dhami was caught out for 7 runs.
Dipesh Kandel remained not out for 10 runs and Akash Chand for 1 run.
Harshit Seth of UAE took five wickets alone. Aayan Afzal Khan took 2 wickets and Ammar Badami took 1 wicket.
