Newly elected six High Court Chief Judges take oath

Newly elected six Chief Judges of High Court taking oath from Chief Justice Bishowambhar Shrestha.

Newly elected six Chief Judges of High Court have taken the oath of office and secrecy.

Chief Justice Bishowambhar Shrestha administered the oath to them amidst a ceremony at the Supreme Court on Thursday.

A meeting of the Judicial Council on Tuesday recommended judges Lohit Chandra Shah, Madhav Pokharel, Ramesh Prasad Rajbhandari, Shree Kanta Paudel, Nityananda Pandey and Shanti Singh Thapa as the Chief Judges of High Court.

Shah has been recommended as Chief Justice for Surkhet, Pokharel for Pokhara, Rajbhandari (Biratnagar), Paudel (Janakpur), Pandey (Tulsipur) and Thapa recommended as Chief Justice for Deepayal.

Meanwhile, the Chief Justice of Deepayal, Nripadhwaj Niraula has been transferred to Patan High Court.
