Visiting State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, has held a meeting with Foreigner Minister of Nepal NP Saud on Friday.
In the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Saud asked the Qatar government to enable the early release of Nepali national Bipin Joshi. In response, Qatari State Minister Al-Muraikhi assured of help for the release of Mr Joshi at the earliest.
“The Foreigner Minister requested the State of Qatar to enable early release of Nepali national Bipin Joshi. The State Minister of Qatar assured of help for the release of Mr Joshi at the earliest,” tweeted the Foreign Ministry.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Saud in the meeting complimented the State for its mediation role in reaching the agreement on humanitarian pause in Gaza and release of hostages.
Prior to this, the Minister summoned the Israel's ambassador to Nepal on Thursday to talk on the same matter. Nepali student Joshi was held hostage in Israel by the Hamas on October 7 and a total of 10 Nepali students were killed in the assault by the rebel group.
The State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Mr. Al-Muraikhi, who arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday afternoon had been received by the Foreign Secretary Mr. Bharat Raj Paudyal at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
