Former King Gyanendra in Jhapa, to unveil statue of Prithvi Narayan

Former King Gyanendra Shah landed in Jhapa on Friday.

Former King Gyanendra Shah is currently visiting Jhapa under the management of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). He reached Jhapa on Friday from Kathmandu.

According to RPP spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, former king Shah will participate in the program, during which he will unveil the monument of Prithvi Narayan Shah and meet with local citizens in Birtamod today.

The motorcycle rally will start today at 1 pm from Hotel Mechi Crown (where the former king is staying), and the former king will get out of the vehicle in front of Bhatbhateni in Birtamod. From there he will walk on foot to EECHM College in Panchakanya.

The former king Gyanendra will unveil the monument of Prithvi Narayan Shah built at Panchakanya, according to Shrestha.

Shrestha claims that around 7,000 motorcycles will participate in the rally and thousands of citizens will be present during the march of the former king.

"For that preparation, our chairman Rajendra Lingden has been there (in Jhapa) since November 11", he said.

Former king Gyanendra is accompanied by his daughter Prerana and Dhirendra's daughter Sheetashma.
