The government has decided to hold elections for the vacant posts of 20 members of the National Assembly on January 25.
Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma informed that the cabinet meeting held at Singh Durbar on Wednesday morning decided to hold elections for the vacant posts of the members of the National Assembly after two months.
The government has announced the date of the election following consultations with the Election Commission (EC).
The terms of 20 members of the National Assembly are expiring from March 3, 2024.
The terms of eight lawmakers from UML, four (Nepali Congress), three (Maoist Center), one (JSP), two (Unified Socialist) and two independents (Khim Lal Devkota and Dr. Bimala Rai Paudel) are expiring.
