US NSC Senior Director Laubacher pays courtesy call on CoAS Sharma

Visiting United States National Security Council Senior Director for South Asia Eileen Laubacher paid a courtesy call on Chief of Army Staff Prabhuram Sharma on Wednesday.

Held at the Office of CoAS Sharma in Nepali Army headquarters, US NSC official and Sharma discussed various aspects of bilateral interest and cooperation, said the army headquarters.

American Ambassador to Nepal Dean R Thompson was also present during the meeting.

Nepali Army believes that such kind of meeting will bolster the long-standing ties between Nepal and America.

Laubacher who arrived on a two-day visit to Nepal on Wednesday also met with Foreign Minister NP Saud this afternoon.

In the meeting held at the Foreign Ministry, the two leaders exchanged views to further strengthen Nepal-US relations and promote bilateral cooperation, the Foreign Ministry mentioned in a post on X, formally known as Twitter.

Laubacher is also scheduled to meet other senior government officials of Nepal including Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and discuss cooperation in security and other bilateral issues.

According to a foreign ministry official familiar with the visit, the visit will be focused on the various facets of Nepal-US ties, South Asia, and matters related to security, among other things.
