The government of Germany is to provide around Rs 5.9 billion in grant assistance to Nepal. The Nepal government provided authority to Finance Minister to sign the agreement in this regard.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma, shared this at a press meeting organized on Friday to inform about the decision of Thursday's Cabinet meeting.
The meeting decided to give a final shape to the draft of agreement related to a loan of around Rs 13 billion to be received from the World Bank and to form a talks team under leadership of Joint-Secretary of Finance Ministry to hold discussions with WB.
Also, the Spokesperson for the government, Minister Sharma said the government decided to accept grant assistance worth 2 million US dollars to be received from Saudi Arabia to establish Polytechnic Institute and to purchase chemical fertilizer.
She mentioned that the government accepted the grant assistance to be provided by the Indian government for the implementation of "High Impact Community Development Project' and to establish a quarantine checkpost at Trinagar checkpoint of Kailali and Suthauli checkpoint of Kapilvastu for the quarantine of the plant and plant products.
Similarly, the Cabinet appointed Rudra Prasad Gautam to the post of Chairperson of the Water Tariff Fixing Commission and Yashoda Karki and Kulbhusan Shekhar Sharma as the members.
Integrated National Social Security Framework, 2080 presented by Finance, and the Infrastructure Committee as well as National Insurance Policy, 2080, were also approved by the government. (RSS)
