Haribol Gajurel has tendered his resignation from his post as the Chief Political Advisor to the Prime Minister.

Gajurel informed Nepalkhabar to have resigned from his post, without mentioning the reason.

On January 23, 2023, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ had appointed Gajurel, who is also the Deputy General Secretary of the CPN (Maoist Center), as his Chief Political Advisor.

Gajurel had been in the fray for federal elections from Sindhuli-4 in November 20, 2022. However, he was sidelined after the party gave the ticket to Lekhnath Dahal ‘Rajan’.

He was unhappy with the party decision. Discontented Gajurel, who was inducted as his Chief Political Advisor by Prime Minister Dahal, resigned less than one year after his appointment.
