General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat Dr Bharat Raj Gautam has resigned from his post on Monday.
General Secretary Gautam tendered his resignation, a source at the Office of the President has said.
Gautam tendered his resignation eight months before the expiry of his term. However, he has not mentioned why he resigned from the post.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire and Chairman of the National Assembly have dwelled on his resignation and the next general secretary.
On May 4, 2020, Gautam had been appointed to the post of General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
Then President Bidya Bhandari had appointed him to the post on the recommendation of NA Chair Timalsina and then Speaker of the House of Representatives Agni Sapkota.
Prior to becoming General Secretary, he was a secretary of the parliament secretariat. Gautam, who holds PhD on Administrative Reforms and Work Performance Management from Tribhuvan University, had joined the civil service in 2051 BS.
