Padam Prasad Pandey has been recommended for the post of General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat, a source at the Office of the President has said.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire and the chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Timalsina jointly recommended Pandey's name to the President for the post of General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
HoR Speaker and NA Chair recommended Pandey’s name for the post of General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat pursuant to Article 106 of the Constitution. Pandey is the sitting secretary of the Parliament Secretariat.
The post of General Secretary lay vacant after Dr Gauram resigned from his post eight months before the expiry of his term, citing domestic issues, paving the way for Pandey to become a new General Secretary.
Pandey served in his capacity as Deputy Attorney General prior to becoming secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
He had joined as the secretary on April 20, 2023.
