Foreign Minister NP Saud who is currently in Qatar to attend the 21st Edition of Doha Forum has requested Prime Minister of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani to facilitate for the release of Bipin Joshi.
Joshi is presently held captive by Palestinian militant group, Hamas, in Gaza, Israel. Minister Saud made this request during a courtesy meeting with Prime Minister Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Doha on Monday.
“During the meeting, the two sides discussed trade and investment matters, cooperation through Qatar Fund for Development, exchange of high level visits and most importantly, release of Bipin Joshi from captivity in Gaza,” the Foreign Ministry posted on X, formally known as Twitter.
In response, Qatari Prime Minister informed that all efforts are being made for the release of Bipin Joshi.
Minister Saud who flew to Qatar on Saturday, leading a delegation, attended the 21st Edition of Doha Forum on December 10.
The two-day Forum which kicked off on Sunday was inaugurated in the presence of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, which was attended by almost 38 heads of the State and government of various countries across the globe, shared the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On the sidelines of the Forum, Minister Saud met with his Qatari counterpart Dr Mohammed bin Abdullahziz bin Saleh al-Khulaifi, Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, the two discussed matters of mutual interests in cordial atmosphere, it is said.
Similrly, Minister Saud also held a fruitful meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart, Dr AK Abdul Momen. During the meeting, matters of mutual interests were discussed with the focus on bilateral cooperation in the development of hydropower and tourism for the benefits of both countries.
Besides, Minister Saud also met with Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber, and discussed trade, investment and tourism opportunities in Nepal.
