Finance Minister Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has changed the chairman of the board of directors of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE).
Minister Mahat replaced Bhupal Baral, the chairman of the board of directors of the bench mark index, with Shobhakanta Paudel on Tuesday.
Paudel is the incumbent Director General of the Department of Customs.
Joint Secretary Baral looks after the Financial Sector Management and Corporation Coordination Division, under the Finance Ministry.
With the recent reshuffle, NEPSE is now comprised of Paudel as chairman, Kishna Chandra Kafle, under-secretary at the Finance Ministry, Hem Prasad Neupane, and Mina Pandey (Directors of Nepal Rastra Bank), Dibesh Prasad Lohani from Rastriya Banijya Bank, Independent Director Laxmi Prasad Maharjan and NEPSE CEO Krishna Bahadur Karki as members.
