Padam Prasad Pandey has been appointed as acting General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Pandey entrusted Pandey with the responsibility of acting General Secretary of the Parliament Secretariat.
The post was lying vacant after former General Secretary Dr Bharat Raj Gautam resigned from his post eight months before the expiry of his term.
Speaker Ghimire and National Assembly Chairman Ganesh Prasad Timilsina recommended Pandey’s name to the President on December 11.
A provision has it that the President appoints the General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Secretariat on the recommendation of HoR Speaker and the NA Chairman.
