Standard Chartered Bank lowers interest rate

Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) Nepal has set a new interest rate effective from December 17.

According to the new interest rate, depositors will get minimum 3.6 to maximum 4.65 percent for saving account.

Similarly, the interest rate has been fixed at 5.65 percent for saving account (remittance).

SCB has said it will offer minimum 5 percent to maximum 8.56 percent interest for fixed deposit from mid-December. Earlier, the interest rate for this account was 8.97 percent.

As for the institutionalized deposit, it will offer 4.75 percent while its base rate is 7.84, the bank has said.

Similarly, 12.84 percent interest rate has been fixed for the loan taken from the bank.
