Nepali Congress leader and former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand has furnished a bail of Rs 1.5 million to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation.
He was produced at the Department of Money Laundering Investigation today after being released by the Patan High Court on a bail of Rs 3 million on Thursday.
Khand, who was serving a jail-term in custody in connection with the Bhutanese fake refugee case, was freed on a bail of Rs 3 million following the order of the High Court yesterday.
The Department recorded his statements and asked him to furnish a bail of Rs 1.5 million. He furnished the bail as demanded.
He was then taken to the Office of the CIAA following his release by the Department. The Department had demanded 50 percent of the bail sought by the High Court.
The anti-graft body had released them on a general date.
